World Bank president Robert B. Zoellick urged United States president-elect Barack Obama Tuesday to approve the free trade agreement with Colombia and other countries whose free trade pact is on hold. He asked Obama to consider the interests of these countries.
Zoellick, speaking in the Chinese capital Beijing says he knows “that President-elect Obama has emphasized the importance of Washington’s relations with other countries.”
The World Bank president said the stalling of free trade pact “does not only involve Colombia and Panama in Latin America, but also South Korea in Asia.”
