“1,000 Women for Peace,” an exhibit about 1,000 women around the world who were jointly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, will be on display in Cartagena in September.
Visitors can attend dialogues hosted by Colombian women working for peace and human rights in the country.
The exhibit, on show at the Center for the Formation of Spanish Cooperation, catalogs the journey of a thousand women who are working for reconciliation, human rights, economic rights, and women’s rights worldwide.
The exhibition began in Zurich, Switzerland in 2005 and has been on display in 60 countries. The project began when 1,000 women from 150 countries were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. Of the women elected, 198 were from the Americas and twelve were from Colombia.
