A north Colombian lady claims she saw the Virgin of Carmen in her cup of coffee in the early morning hours of Tuesday.
It was six o’clock on Tuesday morning, when Nilsa Gutiérrez, a housewife and vendor of ‘minutes’, had her morning cup of coffee and discovered the Virgin, or Our Lady of Mount Carmel, on the bottom of the cup after enjoying the last sip.
“I woke up normally and made my coffee like I always do. What I couldn’t expect was that I was going to see this image of the virgin that early. I drank the coffee. When I saw the image, I immediately went to some neighbors and asked what they saw, everybody said it was the Virgin. I am happy with this appearance”, she told local paper El INFORMADOR.
The delighted doña Nilsa has pictures of the virgin to show to whoever is interested.
Claims of appearances of the Holy Virgin are common in Colombia.
