Colombia, Venezuela combat fuel smuggling

Venezuela has committed to normalizing fuel supplies with Colombia in order to counter fuel smuggling between the countries, says Carlos Rodado Noriega, Colombia’s minister of Mines and Energy.

Venezuela will subsidize fuel prices attempt to counteract fuel smuggling in border areas such as the department of La Guajira and Norte Santander, the minister told Caracol Radio.

Rodado said that 7 million gallons of fuel a month are smuggled into Colombia through La Guajira and Norte Santander.
