Venezuela is extraditing three suspected Colombian guerrillas captured in the country’s territory to Colombia on Wednesday, reports Caracol Radio.
The alleged guerrillas, two of whom are from the rebel group ELN and one of whom is from the FARC, Colombia’s biggest guerrilla group, are reportedly being flown to Colombia after being captured in Venezuela.
Milton Navarro Mujica, alias “El Panadero” of the Domingo Lain Front of the ELN, is wanted for aggravated homicide, rebellion and kidnapping. Priscila Ayala Mateus is accused of being a member of the ELN and is wanted for rebellion, conspiracy, aggravated murder, robbery and kidnapping. Oswaldo Espinosa Baron, aliases “Farid” or “Falias,” joined the FARC in 1990 and is wanted for murder of protected persons, attempted murder, rebellion and illegal methods of warfare.
Interpol issued an international arrest order for the three upon the request of Colombia.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez reportedly decided to extradite the three suspected guerrillas to Colombia so they could answer to the charges they face in that country. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos is expected to make a statement Wednesday afternoon regarding the return of the criminals to Colombian territory.
