The U.S. tourist who had been admitted to a Cartagena hospital after
showing symptoms of the AH1N1 virus, or swine flu, has tested negative for the virus, local media reported Friday.
According to Cartagena newspaper El Universal, the lab results released the man of suspicion of having taken the virus to Colombia’s most important tourist city.
The man had come to Cartagena on a cruiseship that previously had unboarded tourists in Mexico, where the virus first was discovered.
There are no reports on the condition of the second suspected swine flu case in the walled city.
