Uribe: FARC inflitrated sugar cane strike

Guerrilla group FARC infiltrated the group of sugar cane cutters that
have gone on strike and are causing a shortage of sugar in the country,
says Colombian President Álvaro Uribe.

The President, speaking in Armenia, also said a senator — not mentioning which one — had been in a meeting between the guerrillas and the strikers and called on Chief Prosecutor Mario Iguarán to investigate the matter.

The sugar cane strike has been going on for several weeks.
