Uribe approves extradition ‘Don Diego’

Colombian President Álvaro Uribe approved the extradition to the United
States of drug lord ‘Don Diego’ Leon Montoya, former head of the Norte
del Valle cartel.

U.S. Justice called for the extradition of the former drug lord for his alleged responsibility in shipping 500 tons of cocaine to North America, laundering money, obstruction of justice and murder.

‘Don Diego’ was arrested in the Valle del Cauca department in September 2007.
