A Soacha undertaker got suspended from his job Sunday after he got drunk while
the relatives of the deceased were waiting for him and the corpse in a
cemetery.
The family of the deceased had to endure nearly a day without knowing of the whereabouts of their loved one whose body had been brought to Bogota for embalming but did not return for the funeral.
While the undertaker was waiting for the body, he won a bottle of liquor, got drunk with this friends and “totally forgot” about his job.
Yenny Ibague, representative of the funeral parlor Campos de Cristo, regrets the incident and dismissed the undertaker. “It is irresponsible and we do not agree with such behavior”, she said to Radio Caracol Monday.
