Trapped miners found dead

Five miners who were trapped in an Antioquia coalmine since Tuesday after their
way out was cut off because of the flooding of a shaft were found dead
inside the mine by rescue workers.

The mayor of Amagá, where the mine is located, confirmed the death of the miners.

The five were trapped after a water pipe broke, flooding the exit and trapping the miners hundreds of meters from the shaft’s mouth.
