Thousands of screaming fans gathered at Spain’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium to catch their first glimpse of Colombia’s star soccer player James Rodriguez following his transfer to Real Madrid.
The presentation of James basically consisted of the Colombian superstar wearing his new Real Madrid uniform while kicking and throwing what seemed like an endless supply of soccer balls towards adoring fans in the stadium.
The display was a media frenzy with half the pitch being taken up by hordes of camera-wielding paparazzi.
At one point, a fan managed to escape from the seating area and rushed James in a giant embrace. When security officials tried to take him away, James hugged him even harder and personally escorted him off the pitch.
Anytime the Colombian midfielder came anywhere close to the edge of the field, fans swarmed with the hopes of just being able to put their hands on Colombia’s wunderkind.
