Swine flu in Colombia: 3,000 infections, 151 deaths

Authorities raised the number of people that contracted swine flu in Colombia to more than 3,000. 151 of the patients did not survive the infection.

“Until November 16, 3,124 confirmed cases of the pandemic H1N1 virus were reported in Colombia,” the country’s Health Ministry announced in its weekly report.

According to the Ministry, the virus has spread to 31 of the country’s 32 departments and has been reported in 188 of 1,102 municipalities.

Worldwide, the swine flu cost 6,250 lives so far, the World Health Organization announced.
