Spain to fund schooling of 400 Colombian girls

Spain’s Madrid region will give approximately US$200,000 to help
with the education of 400 girls from Colombia’s Soacha municipality in
Cundinamarca, where 17.4 percent of kids are not in school.

The money, a slight increase over last year’s sum, will go to female
students in elementary, junior high and high school levels with the aim
of allowing them to study the hotel and service industry, Spanish news agency EFE reported.
