A grenade attack in the southwest of Colombia has left at least ten people injured, local authorities said Monday.
According to the authorities, an unknown man threw the fragmentation grenade inside a public establishment on the road connecting the town of Pradera and Florida, both in the Valle del Cauca department.
The suspect is a demobilized member of the paramilitary organization AUC who reportedly had a fight with demobilized members of a left-wing guerrilla group.
Among the most seriously injured was a five-year old girl who was taken to the nearby city of Cali for treatment.
Following the attack, municipal authorities announced to impose a curfew and restrict the use of motorcycles to ensure safety. The Valle police department vowed to send extra troops to the area.
