Colombian bombshell Sofia Vergara turned 40 Tuesday, an age that doesn’t seem to make her any less attractive to her fan base.
The star of the U.S. sitcom “Modern Family” celebrated her birthday surrounded by loved ones in Mexico where she arrived by private jet Thursday.
“Here we are in beautiful Mexico. My happy birthday(…) the journey is about to begin,” Vergara told local media.
In June the actress spoke to Vanity Fair about the media’s comparisons between her and younger stars. “I’m sorry for the actresses in their twenties who get compared to me. If I was that age, I would be mad that they compared me to an old woman of 40.”
The actress was accompanied by her son Manolo and her on-again, off-again boyfriend Nick Loeb. The lovers reportedly broke up in May but are now reunited again.
