Shakira has written the foreword to a new book by her father that is due to be presented in Barcelona on January 14.
William Merberak, an established journalist, poet, essayist and writer will present his book at a ceremony expected to be attended by Shakira and her boyfriend and soccer star Gerard Pique.
“In this book, ‘Al viento y al azar’ I conquered all, from the rebellion of its text, to the brutal honesty of its pages.” noted Shakira in the foreword of her fathers newest book, a recounting of his early life in New York.
Merberak was born in New York in 1931 of Lebanese origin, he still recounts his nostalgia for the times he spent in Barranquilla, north Colombia, the hometown of his daughter, Shakira and the birth of her international fame.
