Shakira working with Lady Gaga’s video director (VIDEO)

Shakira is to make a “comeback” in a collaboration with Lady Gaga’s music director with her new single, performed in English to be released in mid September.

In fact it is difficult to say that Latin pop-queen needs to make a comeback after her 2010 album “Sale el Sol” was in the top 10 lists of 12 countries worldwide and sold a record-breaking 100,000 copies in its first week of release in Colombia alone.

However it’s been a while since Shakira, rumored to be the star of an unconfirmed sex-tape, has had a big hit outside of Latin America.

The Colombian singer has joined forces with a bevy of producers for her new album including Fernando Garibay who worked on Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and produced the single “Truth or Dare (on the dance floor)” to be released this month.

The song, which is available in very scratchy quality on YouTube sounds like the disco-pop synthetic cheese that will pack club dance floors late at night with people trying (probably unsuccessfully) to get some Shakira hip-moves in there.

Other producers said to be on the album are Max Martin (Backstreet Boys, Katy Perrry), Dr Luke (Rihanna, Nicky Minaj) and RedOne (Usher and Jennifer Lopez).

With inoffensive-generic-rapper Pitbull stuffed into the package, the album has all the makings of another jewel in the crown for the Colombian empress of pop.

The only thing that could possibly slow her down is the unconfirmed baby reportedly due in January which might throw a spanner in the works.
