The four, doing performances in support of Colombia’s hostages in Paris and on the Colombian border with Peru and Brazil, committed themselves to sing together in the future and to continue to fight for peace in Colombia in a joint interview with Caracol Radio on Thursday.
Shakira called on Colombians to wear a white t-shirt with a written desire on it, something she plans to do for her performance with Carlos Vives in Leticia, where they will sing the national anthem, kicking off Colombia’s Independence Day and the call on the FARC to release all hostages.
Carlos Vives expressed how pleased he was to be able to share the stage with Colombia’s most famous singer.
Spanish Miguel Bose once again confirmed his love for Colombia and the Colombian people. Bose was offered Colombian citizenship by President Álvaro Uribe just days ago.
Juanes and Bose will join former hostage Ingrid Betancourt in Paris to demand the release of Colombian hostages and will perform that same day in the French capital.
Shakira and Carlos Vives will perform in the south of Colombia. Their concert will be attended by Uribe and his Peruvian and Brazilian counterparts Alan García and Luiz Inacio de Silva.
People in 56 six cities around the world will join the protest and almost all Colombian municipalities are expected to organize concerts to support the call for peace and the support of the country’s estimated 1000 hostages. During the day around 120,000 Colombian artists are expected to perform.
