Speculation has heightened as to whether Shakira will attend the wedding of her ex-boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua, son of previous Argentine President Fernando de la Rua.
In January 2011, Shakira ended a decade-long relationship with the prominent Argentinian lawyer. De la Rua is now engaged to former Colombian beauty contestant, Daniela Ramos.
The couple, who have been together for nearly 18 months, intend to marry next March at a ceremony in Morocco. Shakira is reportedly on good terms with de la Rua although has not confirmed whether she will be attending the celebration.
Shakira has been romantically involved with high-profile Spanish football star, Gerard Pique since March 2011 when she confirmed their relationship via Twitter and Facebook, posting a photograph of the couple with the caption: “I present to you my sunshine.”
The Barranquilla-born star seems to be over her previous Argentine sweetheart as her relationship with the 25-year-old Pique steadily intensifies. In June the couple reportedly purchased a home just outside Barcelona, only to be followed by pregnancy rumors, which the singer’s PR team and family have denied.
