Seven die in east Colombia bomb blast

At least seven people died when a car bomb exploded in the
town of Convención in the east Colombian department of Norte de
Santander.

The bomb exploded at the moment a police patrol passed through the town. At the same time the patrol was attacked with hand-made mortars.

The attacked killed three policemen and four civilians. Fifteen people are reported injured.

Authorities say Colombia’s second largest guerrilla group ELN is responsible for the attack.
