Bogota police on Tuesday captured a senior FARC commander in charge of extortion and kidnapping.
The captured guerrilla, Victor Hugo Silva Soto alias ‘Erick’ and ‘El Chivo’ (‘Goat’), has over 30 years of experience fighting within the FARC’s ranks reported America Economia.
Before his capture, Silva commanded the “Manuela Saenz” column of the FARC that operates in the central Tolima department. He had also been responsible for providing security for a number of FARC leaders.
Silva was reportedly apprehended traveling on public roads in Bogota and carrying false identification.
