Senator Jorge Robledo says that hidden amongst the articles of President Santos’ National Development Plan are a number of measures that are harmful to citizens reported Caracol Radio.
The senator said Friday that in addition to the now-withdrawn move to raise the retirement age, which he opposed, are two more hidden measures, which he called “monkeys.”
The first of two mandates hidden in the 200-article National Development Plan increases property taxes, and will particularly affect the lower class, according to the senator.
The second mandate reportedly opens the door for the state to deliver public land to any business they choose.
The senator explains his concern that this mandate gives rural land to corporations when the goal of the development plan is to defend the small and medium sized land owner.
Each Colombian president must submit a series of proposals for his term, which are known as the National Development Plan.
