Colombia’s largest rebel group FARC have “liquidity problems” and a shortage of food and ammunition, Colombian vice-President Fransisco Santos
said in Geneva, where he is promoting an international anti-drugs
campaign.
“They have no command, are unable to communicate among themselves and the coca business has become more complicated. One can see they are no longer in the buoyant situation they were in,” Santos said.
“That doesn’t mean the snake is dead,” he added.
Santos reiterated the Colombian government does not want any international mediation, because the FARC “use this kind of mediation to not reach what we want,”. He said that due time Colombia will be open to international mediation again. (with EFE)
