Colombia’s President Santos appoints 2nd term cabinet

Juan Manuel Santos appointed seven new ministers on Monday, resulting in a U Party majority in the presidential cabinet, local media reports.

Santos announced the completion of what he called the “cabinet to build peace, education, and equality” on Monday, five days after being sworn in to serve his second term as president, reported national magazine Semana.

Of the 16 total cabinet members, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Defense, Health, Housing, Culture and Information Technology and Telecommunications (TIC) will keep their offices from the previous term.
