Rough police treatment of homeless posted on YouTube

A police raid to round up homeless people was filmed by one of the participants, a policeman-in-training, and later posted on YouTube, newspaper El Espectador reported Monday.

About six minutes in, the amateur video of the raid, which took place in Bogota, shows a group of trainee policemen chasing an apparently destitute man down a river before beating him and hurling verbal abuse.

The full context of the police actions remain unclear, and authorities have yet to comment on the video.
