Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos will travel to Brazil to watch Colombia’s second World Cup match against the Ivory Coast, announced the head of state in a press release on Tuesday. The recently reelected President Santos announced that he would travel to Brazil’s capital Brasilia on Wednesday to support the Colombia’s national soccer team, Los Cafeteros.
“I’m going to accompany the team. I am leaving on Wednesday night to arrive in the morning, to accompany the national team in the match, and in the victory we will have over the Ivory Coast,” said Santos on Tuesday.
The match will be the second for Colombia in the World Cup after their opening 3-0 win against Greece on Saturday, kicking-off Thursday at 11AM Colombian time.

The trip abroad will be Santos’ first of his second term as president after he was reelected in Sunday’s second round election.

It was also revealed on Tuesday that English referee Howard Webb, who officiated the 2010 World Cup final between Spain and The Netherlands will take charge of Colombia’s group C clash, reported El Espectador.
