Bogota police disabled a car bomb in the center of Colombia’s capital city early Tuesday Morning.
According to the Metropolitan Police, neighbors warned the police about the abandoned car around 5AM after which authorities cordoned off the area and a bomb squad was deployed to disable the explosive device.
Police told reporters that the car was parked close to a police station.
The head of Bogota’s police General Luis Eduardo Martinez said an anonymous source indicated that the attempted attack was carried out by the FARC, although no other details were available.
One person has been arrested in relation to the car bomb, the police added.
