A four meter long and over 400 kilo alligator, was caught by the police in the village of San Rafal Lebrija, Santander.
The capture occurred when the huge reptile attempted to enter a house in the village.
Authorities say that the animal had been terrorizing the locals, eating animals and poultry and had attacked livestock.
Six policemen and several locals tried for several hours before they managed to tie up the alligator’s arms and legs.
The animal is now in Bucaramanga, where it will stay until an appropriate home can be found for it.
This alligator was the third of its species to be found in the area so far this year.
