Police attacked in northern Colombia

An anti-narcotics police unit was attacked in northern Colombia, reported local media Wednesday.

Medellin police told Colombia Reports, six police were injured and one died on the way to a hospital in Medellin, the departmental capital.

The unit was providing security for civilian coca eradication teams working to destroy coca crops in the area of Ceres, Antioquia, northern Colombia.

The attackers have not been identified and no group has yet claimed responsibility.
