Ghost appears in day-care center

An unidentified figure appeared on video footage at a Colombian day-care center on Wednesday, sparking superstition and prompting the sprinkling of holy water through the classrooms.

The apparition took place in the middle of the day in a day-care center in the town of Aguachica, while the children were participating in a round of singing and dancing. Parents were gathered outside, watching the fun, when a shadowy figure floated into view in the room above the children’s heads. At this point, nobody noticed, reported news station RCN Thursday.

Only after viewing film footage of the performance did observers notice a distinct figure appearing overhead and then vanishing. “While I was filming, I didn’t see anything, it was only afterwards,” stated the camera-woman Shirley Sereno.

The parents were taken-aback by the apparition, some passing it off as a mere shadow crossing the street outside while others were convinced it was a ghost attracted by the sound of children’s laughter.

“For me, there was no danger – in fact it is a good spirit, a friendly spirit, who likes children and that was why it appeared,” claimed one of the mothers, Rosalin Robles.

The apparition provoked surprise but not fear, however, as a precaution the headmistress of the center sprinkled holy water through the classrooms to ward off unwanted supernatural attention.
