Severo Cuarto Escobar Garzon, allegedly a nephew of Pablo Escobar, will be extradited to the U.S. after being arrested in Barranquilla on Wednesday.
Escobar, who is accused of money laundering and drug trafficking, was arrested by police at a checkpoint in the city’s La Pradera neighborhood, reports El Pais.
A court in Georgia, United States, has requested his extradition, official sources told at La FM.
Escobar, who will be detained in Bogota, has filed a petition against the extradition.
