Shakira’s son is only a few days old, but a baby born in the Colombian pop star’s hometown has already been named after him.

Milan Piquet Suarez Arteta was born in Barranquilla, Colombia to parents Stefany Arteta and Jamie Antonio Suarez. He was named after the newborn son of Shakira, also from Barranquilla, and Spanish soccer ace Gerard Pique. Arteta and Suarez noted that while their baby was still in the womb, he would become more active when Shakira’s music was playing.

Jaime is also a big fan of FC Barcelona, Pique’s team, which played just as much a role in their baby’s namesake than his more famous girlfriend.

“I am a faithful fan of Barcelona and I like playing [with] Pique on PlayStation,” said the proud new father.

“I congratulate Shakira who has a very nice baby,” said Suarez “but of course not as nice as mine.” The beaming father also added that he wanted to extend a message to the other, slightly more famous, Milan.

“We want Shakira and Pique to tell their son that his brother is here in Barranquilla.”

Despite being born in October of 2012, Stefany and Jamie waited to name their son until inspiration struck. Apparently in this case, inspiration took three months to strike when the slightly more famous Milan was born. Reports have yet to emerge as to what the parents called their baby during the aforementioned 90 days.
