The Colombian community in New York celebrated their Independence
Day Sunday, one day before the official celebration in Colombia.
The migrants celebrated the independence of their country in Flushing Meadows Park with numerous yellow, blue and red flags and typical Colombian food, music and dance.
It was the 25th time the Colombian community celebrated their independence from Spanish rule with their own Colombia Day.
New York, and primarily Queens, has one of the largest Colombian community in the United States.

Colombia’s Independence Day Sunday was also celebrated in London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Nairobi (Kenya), Mexico City, Ottawa (Canada), Santiago (Chile), San Salvador (El Salvador), Icheon (South Korea), San José (Costa Rica), Milan and Rome (Italy) and in Tokyo (Japan).
