Colombia news - Cats

Famous Broadway musical ‘Cats’ will come to Colombia in November.
It will premier in Bogota and then move to Medellin and Cali.

The musical tells the story of an English cat tribe, ‘The Jellicle’, whose members meet to decide who of them will be reborn.

‘Cats’ was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1981 and is based on the book ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’ by T.S. Eliot.

The musical “has toured many countries of the world; we have been in the United Kingdom, in many parts of the United States, in Chile, in Brazil and now we are ready for Colombia,” Mckena Kelly, spokesperson of the musical, told newspaper El Espectador.

“The idea is to try to start creating a musical scene in Colombia, to improve leisure facilities in the country and we can do this with this Broadway show,” Alvaro Vargas, another spokesman of the musical, told Caracol Radio.

‘Cats’ will premier in ‘El Campin’ in Bogota from 19 until 22 November. Then it will be shown in the theater of the University of Medellin on 25 and 26 November before the musical will be played in Cali in the Espectaculos Valle Pacifico de Cali on 28 and 29 November.
