Arcedio Alvarez, nicknamed the “Monster of Mariquita” for sexually abusing his daughter for more than 30 years and fathering 14 children with her, died in prison Friday.
Alvarez was sentenced to 11 years in prison in February 2010 after he was found guilty of raping his daughter Alba Nidia repeatedly.
The 61-year old Alvarez had continuous health problems and died of natural causes in the National Picalena prison in Ibague, Tolima, reported Radio Caracol.
