Miss Colombia ‘very satisfied’ with Miss Universe results

Colombia news - Catalina Robayo

Miss Colombia Catalina Robayo said Tuesday she is “very satisfied” with her performance at Miss Universe where she made it into the final 16 of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant.

In a 2AM interview with W Radio, Robayo showed no disappointment about not having reached the second round of the finals.

“We all know when we came to Miss Universe that we run this risk. It’s a general rule that happens every year … the favorites don’t always make it. The work was done with the heart since the beginning and all the work done by Colombia was done by many other countries,” Robayo said.

While Colombian media insisted Robayo was one of this year’s favorites for the crown, the results of her performance were better than predicted by international media, who had not put her among the finalists.

Miss Colombia did achieve receiving more publicity than any of the other beauty queens after being photographed at a Sao Paulo samba school wearing no panties. The photo and the reported scolding afterwards made her one of the most searched for competitors on Google.

Following the final event of Miss Universe, Robayo and her family went straight back to the hotel to catch an early flight back to Colombia. She is expected to arrive on Bogota airport around 2PM Tuesday afternoon.
