The 20-year old beauty from the Magdalena Department was one of the five finalists of the bathingsuit competition July 14, but has serious competition from other Latin beauties as Miss Venezuela (winner of the traditional outfit competition), Miss Mexico, who was voted most beautiful in swimwear and Miss Puerto Rico who scores high in the oddlists of gambling companies.
Internet bookmaker BetCRIS considers Miss Colombia as one of the five most likely to win the annual beauty contest. Their oddlist is topped by Miss Venezuela, followed by Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Panama. Venezuelan beauty Dayana Mendoza also tops the list of Betbrain.com. Competitor SBG Global gives Miss Puerto Rico the best chances of winning.
Colombian beauty specialists praise Vargas for her spontaneity and body. Colombian Luz Marina Zuluaga, Miss Universe in 1958, thinks the current Miss Colombia’s biggest strength is her natural appearance.
According to beauty specialist Adiela Marín, Vargas is a “very complete girl, with a lot of charisma and intelligence”.
Miss Colombia will have to show the best of her beauty Sunday during the final night of the Miss Universe Competition.
Colombia’s Canal Caracol will broadcast the event in the evening.
