Miss Colombia hopefuls on Sunday concluded the swimsuit competition, the penultimate round of the national beauty pageant held in coastal city Cartagena.
Taking victory was the representative from Tolima, Karol Sanchez Quintero, with almost 17.5% of the online public votes closely followed by Miss Magdalena who received almost 16% of the votes.
The winner was selected mainly for the “tone and harmony” of her body mainly, among other things, by a panel of judges including a gang of TV personalities and a plastic surgeon.
The favorites tipped to take the crown include Miss Bogota, who is said to be very popular among the public, Miss Norte de Santander, also known as Miss Attitude, and Miss Meta, who dreams of taking protecting the plant life of Colombia single handed.
The final will take place tonight when one of the 25 hopefuls will be crowned, however, there will still be time for one last swimsuit parade by the 10 semi-finalists before the new Miss Colombia is chosen.
