Bogota side Millonarios drew 0-0 on Wednesday while visiting Independiente Medellin for the first leg of the final of Colombia’s soccer league.
The bogotanos were strong, allowing their opponents to create only few opportunities to score while regularly putting pressure on Medellin’s defense.
The home team however, while not able to become dangerous in the offense, had their defense well in order and were able to counter each attack carried out by Millonarios.
Towards the end of the match, Medellin took more control of the game and was able to create a few opportunities, but none resulted in a goal.
Medellin will have to play Sunday’s second leg in Bogota without captain John Edwis Viafara who was sent off the field after receiving his second yellow card.
