Medellin’s botanical gardens will host a two day festival of local culture, complete with live music, local food and craft beer, beginning Saturday, April 30 at 11AM.
The Vibra Mi Tierra festival, which runs from 11AM – 2AM Saturday and 11AM – 7PM Sunday, is broken into four sections, in which visitors may find, respectively, beer, music, food and family fun.
The festival is, according to a press release, an initiative of young local entrepreneurs, who wanted to show off the best and most authentic culture that the city of Medellin, and Colombia more generally, has to offer, in the belief that the country’s prosperity relies on the support of local talent.
A variety of genres, including rock, jazz, electro, and cumbia, will be presented by more than 12 Colombian bands over the course of the festival. Saturday performances include acts by Puerto Candelaria, whose music incorporates tastes of cumbia, porro, ska and vallenato, and Parlantes, an indie rock group.
Microbrewery 3 Cordilleras will also be present at the festival’s Artesanal Beer Fair, providing tastes of their three popular regulars, as well as promoting their special dark stout, Cerveza 6.47.
