Christmas celebrations in the city of Medellin really kicked off on Tuesday with the annual parade of myths and legends.
The official start of the holiday season was on Saturday when the Christmas lights were turned on, but as is traditional in Medellin, the celebration of the night of candles, combined with the parade and the national holiday on Wednesday, really turned on the paisas’ party mode.
With school holidays starting this weekend, public life in Colombia will slowly come to a standstill until after New Year’s Eve.
