At least one person died when a bus traveling the road between
Manizales and Bogotá fell off a cliff early Tuesday morning in central
Colombia. At least twelve passengers were injured.
According to newspaper El Tiempo one person died and twelve were injured, but Caracol Radio speaks of three deaths and 23 injured.
The injured are being transported to hospitals in Fresno and Ibagué, Tolima where they will be treated.
The cause of the accident in the Mesones region in the Tolima department is not yet known as rescue workers are still busy on the site, newspaper El Tiempo reported Tuesday.
The road where the accident happened is infamous for its dangerous curves.
