The national police seize a eader of the south-west Colombia-based narco-trafficking organization “Los Rastrojos” in Medellin, RCN Radio reported Friday.
Jader Blanquicet, alias “Uraba,” is accused of at least 150 homicides in the department of Cauca, as well as extortion, kidnappings and involvement in drug cultivation and trafficking.
Uraba, who was caught in the uptown Medellin district of “El Poblado” after a 13-month investigation, is also linked to clashes between Los Rastrojos and the FARC’s 60th Front that left 19 dead in Cauca, noted W Radio.
The captured leader is 27 years old and allegedly began committing crimes at the age of 16, when he entered the Calima Bloc of the AUC, commanded by Ever Velosa, alias “HH.”
Los Rastrojos are not considered to be one of the neo-paramilitary organizations that have emerged since the demobilization process, but are mainly formed from the remnants of the Norte del Valle cartel.
