Colombia news - Junior win

Santa Fe are close to a spot in the semi finals of the Liga Postobon after a 1-2 victory at Once Caldas on Sunday.

Cristian Nazarith put the Bogota outfit ahead after 36 minutes at Once Caldas, but the hosts went on to level through Oswaldo Viscarrondo six minutes after the break.

When Julio Gutierrez restored Santa Fe’s lead with fifteen minutes to go, Once’s resistance seemed broken and the visitors would not concede a second equaliser.

Santa Fe remain in third place, but are now level on points with Medellin and just one point behind leaders Deportes Tolima.

Fourth-placed Junior earned a vital 3-2 win over Cortulua with two goals from Carlos Bacca and one from Victor Cortes.

Cortulua fought back with late goals from Jhonathan Muñoz and Deivi Rodriguez but it was not enough to avoid the defeat.

La Equidad were held to a 1-1 draw at Millonarios in a capital city derby, and are now two points behind the top four.

Carlos Renteria put La Equidad in the lead on 32 minutes but Yovanni Arrechea equalised with fourteen minutes to go.

In other games on Sunday, Deportivo Cali beat Envigado 1-0, Cucuta Deportivo earned an easy 3-0 win over America de Cali and Boyaca Chico drew 1-1 with Atletico Huila.

With just two rounds to go, Tolima, Medellin, Santa Fe and Junior are on course for a spot in the semi finals.
