Juanes and two other top Colombian artists have been nominated for the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards to be held in Germany in November.

The famed Colombian artist Juanes was nominated in the category “Best Latin Artist” along with Bogota based rock band Don Tetto and female singer Naty Botero.

Don Tetto commented on his Twitter account that he was very happy to be nominated for the MTV Europe Awards for the second year.

FELIZ DIA PARA TODOS! Estamos nominados a los Premios MTV EUROPA por segundo año consecutivo!! Contamos con todos uds la.mtvema.com/artistas/don-t…

— Don Tetto (@DONTETTO) September 17, 2012

Naty Botero also wrote on her account how thankful she was for the opportunity.

Gracias a todos por los mensajes. Gracias a ustedes esto es posible. Nominada como mejor artista central EMA MTV 2012.

Other major artists such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, The Killers and One Direction have received nominations in a variety of categories.

The awards which will this year take place in Frankfurt are considered one of the most prestigious award events in the non-U.S. music industry and even though it is a European event, it is almost always dominated by American musicians.
