The Islas del Rosario archipelago off Colombia’s Caribbean coast is one of the world’s top ten most beautiful tourist destinations, according to Portuguese magazine Fugas.
The international travel magazine sites the archipelago’s coral reef and ecosystem as excellent for diving expeditions.
The director of Cartagena’s Tourism Board Luis Ernesto Araujo told Radio Caracol that the archipelago has a 30 per cent rise in visitors between January and June of this year, compared to the same time period last year.
Fugas compares the Islas del Rosario to other revered tourist detinations such as Thailand’s Ko Samui and Negril in Jamaica, praising the warmth of its waters and its proximity to Cartagena.
