A court has closed the preliminary bribery investigation against the son of former President Alvaro Uribe, local media reported Tuesday.
Tomas Uribe was accused of intervening in the appointment of Luz Marina Camargo as a second notary of Tunja in the central department of Boyaca at the time of his father’s reelection.
The prosecution claimed that the ex-president’s son exerted his influence in exchange for political favors.
After two years of inquiry, the prosecution requested the court close investigations due to lack of evidence.
The court accepted the request, saying that no documentary evidence or valid testimonies had been presented.
