The International Monetary Fund raises Colombia’s growth forecast for the economy to 5% from a previous 4.6%, business newspaper Portafolio reported Friday.
In addition, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Colombia is predicted to grow by 4.5% between 2012 and 2015, according to a Colombian IMF analyst Andy Wolfe.
The analyst said that the debt crisis in Europe did not affect the Colombian economy. Meanwhile, Wolfe felt that the central bank’s intervention policy to smooth the rise of the peso has worked and said that for now can not see the need for additional measures.
The IMF estimated that the current flow of capital to Colombia does not threaten its inflation targets.
