The 50th summit of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) kicked off Friday in Medellín.
It’s the fourth time the summit is held in Colombia, but never before the financial and governmental heavyweights of both North and South America were confronted with an economic crisis as big as the current one.
The IADB is to analyze the crisis and to find ways to tackle.
The summit is attended by former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the Finance Ministers of all 48 member countries of the IADB and thousands of investors.
5,000 people reportedly have come to Medellín that has seriously cleaned up the city for the event and imposed rigid security measures to avoid problems.
The summit will end Tuesday.
