Colombia news - Liga Postobon

Atletico Nacional moved to second place in the Colombian Liga Postobon following a 3-0 win over Cucuta on Saturday, while Itagui Ditaires crashed 2-1 at Millonarios. Once Caldas remain on top.

Medellin-based Nacional got their fourth win of the season, beating Cucuta Deportivo 3-0 at home. Dorlan Pabon netted the opening goal on 22 minutes, and John Jairo Valencia made it 2-0 two minutes after the hour. The third and final goal came from Jairo Palomino in the 79th minute.

The result leads Nacional past Itagüi Ditaires, who lose 2-1 at Millonarios despite first going a goal up through Cleider Alzate in the 13th minute.

Millonarios turned things around in the second half, as Edison Toloza equalised shortly before the hour and Jefferson Angulo netted the winner with six minutes to go. Itagüi were a man down at the full time whistle as result of Jhonny Vasquez’ sending off in the 87th minute.

In Saturday’s remaining game, Deportes Quindio returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Medellin. Juan Caicedo and Carlos Robles scored for the home side, Luis Mosquera did so for the guests.

On Friday, leaders Once Caldas added their sixth win of the season in a home game with Deportivo Pereira, 2-0. Wason Renteria scored both goals, doing so in the 32nd and 64th minutes.

Once Caldas now have a five-point lead over Nacional, with Itagüi and Quindio following at another point.
